The Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology (BISCAST) successfully sustained its ISO 9001:2015 certification following the 2026 Surveillance Audit conducted on July 31, 2026, at the BISCAST Board Room.
The audit was conducted by TÜV SÜD auditors Mr. Mel Gibbson Ogay and Mr. Erwin F. Quinto, covering the institution’s certified scope on the Provision of Tertiary Education.
The one-day audit assessed BISCAST’s Quality Management System, reviewing Top Management, Management Review, Internal Audit, the College of Engineering, College of Architecture and Design, Student Registration and Records Office, Admission and Testing Center, Student Development Services, Advanced Education Services and Quality Assurance, Learning Resource and Development Office, Procurement Unit, Supply and Property Management Unit, Medical and Dental Health Services, and Physical Plant Development and Maintenance Services.
Audit preparations were coordinated by the Advanced Education Services and Quality Assurance Office, led by Quality Assurance Office Director and ISO Chairperson Dr. Maribel D. Ganeb, with technical guidance and support from ISO Consultant Engr. Helen A. Evalle.
During the closing meeting, TÜV SÜD confirmed that BISCAST satisfied the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and recommended its certificate maintenance.
The BISCAST administration, led by SUC President II Prof. Charlie P. Nacario, PhD, extends its gratitude to the TÜV SÜD auditors, process owners, auditees, and all personnel who contributed to the successful conduct of the audit.
In his message, President Nacario emphasized that quality assurance is a shared responsibility across the College, encouraging the BISCAST community to embrace the Quality Management System and “make quality assurance a way of life” in daily instruction, service, and operations.
The successful surveillance audit affirms BISCAST’s commitment to quality management, responsive service delivery, and continual improvement as it advances its internationalization agenda and transition toward SEAUTech.
