The Urban Nexus carried out its full-blown capacity building activity for the faculty with the Training of Trainers for the “Energy and Water in the Build Environment” course, conducted last 3-5 July 2019 at the Library Mezzanine. The activity primarily aimed to: train faculty members on the course Energy and Water in the Build Environment; conduct site visits to the learning facilities of the College in line with the course; train other faculty members who will be capable of teaching the course; and persuade additional faculty members who will have an in-depth understanding of the Nexus Program that can be chosen to pursue the Nexus Programs endeavor.
The training, facilitated by the EWBE-trained instructors from the CEA department and the Nexus Team, and attended by teachers from the four colleges, was comprised of lectures, evaluations, and site visits to the different energy, water, and solid waste management facilities in the College. The training was also organized in compliance with the training requirements of faculty and employees by the institution in support of the College’s Teacher and Staff Development Program. At the end of the training, the participants were instructed to provide deliverables relative to the course. The trainers likewise sought the opinion and decision of the trainees on their willingness to accept the challenge of carrying out the task.
