BISCAST, Naga City – BISCAST’s Magna Cum Laude is now inspiring thousands of Filipinos after her post went viral on social media.
Sandra Estefani Ramos, graduate of Bachelor in Secondary Education Major in TLE (BSED-TLE) was named Magna Cum Laude during the BISCAST 46th Commencement Exercises, yesterday, April 2, 2019.
As of press writing, Ramos’ post on Facebook hits more than 10,000 reactions, 3,200 shares and 410 comments where she recognized her father, a pedicab driver in Magarao, Camarines Sur.
In his post, Ramos said, “After so many years of hard work and sacrifice, Papa, mama heto na! ‘Pa, ihatod mo po ang Magna Cum Laude mong aki gamit an satong padyak!’ I am proud that my father is a pedicab driver.”
In his valedictory address, many were touched, moved and teary-eyed when she mentioned how her parents inspired her in so many ways to achieve her dream.
She also highlighted the sacrifices and love of her parents particularly his father which made her stronger in facing challenges in life as well as in the academe.
Ramos also advised her co-graduates to do their best to meet the expectation of others but also consider the limitation.
“Pero kapag ginawa na natin ang lahat at hindi pa rin tayo tanggap ng ibang tao, cheer up! For there is someone mightier than them, there is someone mightier than the world and it is Heavenly Father”, Ramos added.
Meanwhile, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) awarded Ramos the CSC’s Honor Graduate Eligibility (HGE) under the Presidential Decree (P.D.) No. 907.
A total of 1,215 graduate marched during the Commencement Exercises from College of Education (COE), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College (CAS), College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA), and College of Trades and Technology (CTT).
Twenty-eight from said number are from Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) and Master of Engineering (ME).
This year’s graduation focused on the theme “Education for Global Peace, Quality Life, and Legacy”.
