BISCAST, Naga City – Eleven accreditors from the Accredited Agency of Chartered Colleges and University of the Philippines (AACCUP) visited Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology (BISCAST) to conduct their Level 3 Phase 1 Survey for four academic programs of the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA), November 26-28, 2019.

Prof. Enrico M. Dalangin of Batangas State University served as the Overall Coordinator of the three-day accreditation survey visit for the programs Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BSA), Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering (BSECE), Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).

During the visit, the accreditors assessed the quality and efficiency standard being implemented by the four academic programs particularly on the areas of vision, mission, goals and objectives; faculty, curriculum and instruction; support to students; research; extension and community involvement; library; physical plant facilities; laboratories and administration.

The accreditors thoroughly evaluated the documents, inspected the campus and its facilities, observed classes, and conducted interviews with the administrators.

According to Dr. Richard H. Cordial, BISCAST President, the College considers accreditation as a kind of national seal approval and excellence, conferred by a group of noteworthy evaluators.

“As a young institution and the sole SUC in Naga City, adding another seal of approval that enshrines our competence as an academic institution is a reassuring nudge of confidence for the young minds of Bicol that we truly are the home of applied sciences and technology in the region,” Cordial said in his message.

Meanwhile, Dean Ar. Jennifer Vibar mentioned that the Phase 3 Survey of Level 3 Accreditation Visit for CEA is one of their biggest feats this 2018.

Vibar said, “In our continuing quest towards excellence, our college ensures the quality delivery of its mandate.”

AACCUP is an accreditation agency in the Philippines and has accredited almost 3000 academic programs of higher education institutions (HEIs) in the country.
