BISCAST, Naga City – The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research (SEARCA) named Engr. Andro Ephraim T. Aguila’s research paper as Best Research Paper in Agriculture, in the recently concluded 1st International Conference on Research and Extension (ICONRE 2018) on November 8-10, 2018 at Camarines Norte State College (CNSC).

Aguila, Assistant Professor II from the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) won for his paper titled “Scheduling of Poultry Farm Growing and Cleaning Cycles for Operation Optimization”.

His research aims to analyze the different work task during cleaning activity in a 450 x 52 climate-controlled system poultry farm capable of raising 36,000 flocks.

Aguila’s research also tackled the benefits of scheduling, and how it prevented detrimental effects of heat, stress and, power system instability to poultry production.

This year’s ICONRE 2018 focused on the theme “Creating Pathways for Collaboration for a Progressive and Sustainable Research and Extension Productivity” which assembled more than 90 faculty researchers, extension practitioners, policymakers, school administrators and students of higher education institutions (HEIs) from six countries all over Southeast Asia.

Meanwhile, some BISCAST researchers also participated in the ICONRE 2018 including Engr. Analyn A. Madrid, Dr. Isidro B. Bola, Dr. Marlo M. De La Cruz, Dr. Victor J. Revilla, Dr. Ma. Christina R. Remoquillo, Ar. Jennifer Y. Vibar, Ms. Yolanda P. Beguia, Mr. Jonathan S. Dela Cruz, Ar. Eleanor D. Barsaga, Ms. Ma. Rovie A. Chavez, Mr. Salvador S. Berja, and Engr. Donna T. San Antonio.
